Helicopter Ratings
Here are the ratings you can obtain while training at Makin Air Helicopters. While the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sets minimum time requirements for these ratings, the time it takes each student varies with that student's ability and schedule. That is why we tailor our training for your specific circumstances.
Private
This rating is for those of you who just want to fly helicopters. This certificate allows you to fly helicopters and carry passengers. One cool way to impress visiting relatives
Commercial
This rating is for those who want to make a living flying helicopters. You start by obtaining your private rating and then undergo additional training. Employers will look for this rating plus some hours of flying before hiring you as a professional pilot.
Instrument
This rating is for those of you who want to be all-weather pilots. As an instrument-rated pilot, you can fly by looking at the instrument panel and using it as your sensors; this allows you to fly in clouds or other low-visibility situations. Most employers will require that you have this rating.
